Valiant Sports Group has successfully landed the signature of 16 year old striker Jacob Onyango. Despite interest from at least one other agency, VSG was able to close the deal for the talented player. Jacob is well known in the youth circles of his native Kenya as a strong, fast, hard-working clinical striker. He becomes the first out and out youth striker that the agency represents.
Abdelrahman first came to know about Jacob from the agency’s partner in Nigeria. The owner of Valiant FC, Japheth, had heard of the player through one of his contacts and quickly alerted Abdelrahman. After doing some research on the player and speaking to his boyhood coach Nikko, owner of SC ASYD in Kenya, Abdelrahman began tracking the player more closely.
Abdelrahman was very excited at finally getting Jacob “I am really excited to be working with Jacob. We have a plan for how we will develop him, together with Nikko. His reputation is very good in Kenya and with what I have seen and learned about his work ethic, I am very sure he will achieve the level of development we have envisioned.”
The player himself said he is very happy to have signed for the agency and looks forward to his first experience of trialing in Europe. Nikko also commented about his delight “I am very happy about Jacob being able to sign for a serious sports agency. It has been a long journey for him and this is a big step in his path towards becoming a professional player. Jacob must now work hard and we leave the rest to God.”
The next step for Jacob will be to trial for the U17 national team when the camp resumes following the suspension of football in Kenya due to COVID-19. The agency has no doubts that Jacob will easily be selected and start to represent his country at the qualifiers and tournaments.
That’s great and we pray to God
It is really good for Jacob. Maybe me to follow in his footsteps next?
